GHRH analogue comparison · Research use only
Sermorelin vs Tesamorelin
Sermorelin vs Tesamorelin comes down to length and one added group: sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of GHRH, and tesamorelin is all 44 with a trans-3-hexenoyl group at the N-terminus. Both are made in the USA, and both have a published certificate from an independent US lab.
Below, the two side by side: what each molecule is, what's in each vial, the sizes we stock and how to check the certificate for the vial you hold. Both are listed with our other GHRH analogues on the research peptides page.

How the two molecules differ
GHRH, growth-hormone-releasing hormone, is a 44-amino-acid peptide. Sermorelin keeps only the first 29 residues and ends in an amide group. You'll also see it sold as GRF (1-29).
Tesamorelin keeps all 44 residues and adds a trans-3-hexenoyl group, a six-carbon chain with one double bond, to the tyrosine at position 1. So its first 29 amino acids match sermorelin's, and the chain then runs 15 residues further.
Both appear in published laboratory research on growth-hormone-axis signaling. Sermorelin is also the parent sequence of CJC-1295 No DAC, which keeps the 29-residue length and swaps four amino acids. All three are distinct compounds with their own lot codes.
How to check the certificate for either vial
Accurate Test Labs in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a lab independent of TrueBond, tested our published lots. Each certificate confirms identity and reports HPLC purity of at least 99%. Sermorelin's 5mg and 10mg vials come from separate lots, so each size has its own certificate.
- Find the lot code printed on your sermorelin or tesamorelin vial.
- Search that code on our lab reports page and, once it's posted, open the certificate filed under it.
- Check that the product name and size on the certificate match your label.
- Open the PDF to keep a copy of the full certificate with your records.
Sermorelin vs Tesamorelin: questions we get
Is sermorelin the same as tesamorelin?
No. They're related but separate compounds. Sermorelin is GHRH (1-29), 29 amino acids with nothing added. Tesamorelin is GHRH (1-44), 44 amino acids with a trans-3-hexenoyl group at the N-terminus. Each has its own name, lot codes and certificate.
Is tesamorelin just a longer version of sermorelin?
Not quite. Its first 29 residues match sermorelin's, but tesamorelin also carries the hexenoyl group at the start of the chain, which sermorelin doesn't have. It's longer and modified, a compound in its own right.
Which one should I buy, sermorelin or tesamorelin?
We can't make that call for you. We don't advise on use, and we don't rank one compound against another. What we can do is show you exactly what each vial is and where its certificate lives, so you can match it to the sequence your research plan names.
Can I buy sermorelin and tesamorelin together?
Yes. They're separate vials, so add sermorelin and tesamorelin to your cart and they ship in one order. Weekday orders placed before 2PM ET leave Fort Lauderdale the same day by UPS with tracking.
Do you sell a blend of sermorelin and tesamorelin?
No, we don't put the two in one vial. Sermorelin comes in 5mg or 10mg and tesamorelin in 10mg. The closest blend we carry is CJC-1295 Ipamorelin, which pairs CJC-1295 No DAC, a modified 29-residue GHRH analogue, with ipamorelin, 5mg of each.
How should I store sermorelin and tesamorelin?
The same way. Keep the sealed vials in a freezer at −20°C (−4°F), away from light, where the freeze-dried powder holds for 24+ months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw.
