Selank vs Semax
Selank vs Semax is a comparison of two seven-residue peptides that share a tail and differ at the start: Selank begins with tuftsin, Semax with a fragment of ACTH, and both end in Pro-Gly-Pro. Both vials are made in the USA, with a published certificate for each from an independent US lab.
Here they are side by side: sequence, parent peptide, vial and certificate. Both are listed with everything else we carry on our research peptides page.

Same tail, different head
Both peptides are built the same way: a short natural sequence with Pro-Gly-Pro added to the end. Selank starts from tuftsin, a four-residue peptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg). Semax starts from positions 4 to 7 of ACTH, adrenocorticotropic hormone (Met-Glu-His-Phe).
That gives two heptapeptides of equal length that share their last three residues and none of their first four. Both appear in published laboratory research on neuropeptide signaling. They're separate compounds with separate lot codes, so check the name on the label against the certificate.
Checking a Selank or Semax certificate
Accurate Test Labs in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an independent lab, tested our published lot of each. Both certificates confirm identity and report HPLC purity of at least 99%. Every product with a published certificate is also listed on our third-party tested peptides page.
- Read the lot code off your Selank or Semax label.
- Enter it on our lab reports page to pull up the matching certificate, if it's published.
- Confirm the certificate names the same peptide as your label. The two share a tail, so the name is the quick check.
- Note the test date and purity figure as printed, and keep them with your lot records.
Selank vs Semax: questions we get
Is Selank the same as Semax?
No. Both are seven residues long and both end in Pro-Gly-Pro, but the first four residues are completely different. Selank opens with tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg). Semax opens with the ACTH 4-7 fragment (Met-Glu-His-Phe).
Do you sell a Selank and Semax blend?
No. We sell Selank and Semax as separate 10mg vials, each with its own lot code and certificate. You can add both to one order, and weekday orders placed before 2PM ET ship the same day from Fort Lauderdale by UPS with tracking.
Which should I get, Selank or Semax?
We can't pick for you. We don't give advice on use, and we don't rate one compound against the other. We can tell you what each one is and show you its certificate. The rest depends on the sequence your work calls for.
Why do Selank and Semax both end in Pro-Gly-Pro?
Both were designed by adding the same three-residue tail, proline-glycine-proline, to a short natural sequence. That shared design is why they're so often compared, even though their opening sequences come from different parent peptides.
Is Selank the same as tuftsin, or Semax the same as ACTH?
No to both. Tuftsin is four residues long and ACTH is 39. Selank and Semax each borrow a four-residue stretch and add Pro-Gly-Pro, so they're distinct seven-residue compounds with their own names and certificates.
How should I store Selank and Semax?
The same way. Keep the sealed vials frozen at −20°C (−4°F), away from light, and avoid repeated freeze/thaw. Stored like that, the freeze-dried powder holds for 24+ months.
